Glymo ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Glymo web application at glymo.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.
Information We Collect
Glymo is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal information necessary to provide and improve the service:
- Usage data: Anonymous analytics such as page views, feature usage patterns, and browser type to help us improve the experience.
- Device information: Browser version, screen resolution, and WebGPU capability for compatibility and performance optimization.
- Account information: If you create an account, we store your email address and display name for authentication purposes.
Camera & Local Processing
Your camera feed never leaves your device. Glymo uses MediaPipe for hand tracking, which runs entirely in your browser using on-device machine learning. No video frames, images, or camera data are transmitted to our servers or any third party.
Camera access is optional and requires your explicit browser permission. You can revoke it at any time through your browser settings. All hand-tracking computation happens locally on your device.
Recognition Services
When you use the air-writing text recognition feature, Glymo employs a two-stage cascading recognition pipeline:
- On-device recognition: A lightweight local model attempts to recognize your handwriting first, keeping data on your device whenever possible.
- Cloud recognition (Gemini API): If on-device recognition confidence is low, canvas stroke data (not camera images) may be sent to the Google Gemini API for improved accuracy. This data is processed according to Google's AI terms of service.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to maintain session state and remember your preferences (such as selected effect presets and layout mode). We may also use analytics cookies to understand how the service is used. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are employed.
Data Retention
Your drawings and artwork remain in your browser and are not stored on our servers unless you explicitly choose to save or export them to a cloud service. Anonymous usage analytics are retained for up to 24 months and then deleted. If you have an account, your account data is retained until you request deletion.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You may also request a copy of the data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information below.
